Letter From the Founder

Hi & Welcome to Zlatanova Music

  • My Name is Sofia. I’m the founder of Zlatanova Music Studio.  A unique music studio based in Boston offering a diversified set of Private and Online lessons. Our teaching philosophy is carrying the tradition of renown Eastern European classical music teaching techniques.

Music is an universal language for all ages so here in our studio we have lessons for children and adults. We offer lessons for beginners, students and professionals who want to improve their knowledge and ability in playing their instrument. We also offer a novel way to combine appreciation for nature and healthy lifestyle by offering music lessons for individuals and groups outdoors followed by music history, poetry and cup of tea.

I grew up listening to music in my house. When I was six years old my mother took me for a walk to buy me a dress for my first day in kindergarten. Passing by a clothing shop, I saw a music store and I could not help stopping in front of it. In the window there were the tapes of all my favorite classical composers. I knew I had to get my favorite classical piece: Beethoven’s Symphony No.9. I coveted it and together with it, my own personal journey to music began:

During my first year in kindergarten, I started to play the violin in the elementary School for Music in Skopje. The years of love of music and dedication paid off. As I attended competitions and master classes I become more determined with my viola. I was eventually invited to play in the orchestra in the Macedonian Opera and Ballet House at the age of 19 years old. As a violin and viola player, I am lucky to have a Bachelor Degree from The Faculty of Music Arts - Skopje, post-graduate studies at Trinity Laban in London, and more recently as a Graduate in Viola performance from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, As a perennial student of music and other studies, I continue to grow my knowledge and love of music and have gained a lot of performing experience both as a soloist and in an orchestra. I would love the opportunity to share my talent with everyone who loves to learn music and playing regardless where  is their home.

I want to continue the tradition that I started when I was 18 years old with my humanitarian music workshops for the orphans and children with disabilities. I would like to help those in need so in Zlatanova Music Studio we will offer every month free music playgrounds for those of us who are less fortunate.

I truly believe that in our studio you will discover and develop your hidden talent. You or your child will have the opportunity to explore where music is going to lead you, without compromising the quality of music instruction. It is an ideal place to develop a beautiful hobby during your busy schedule or to sharpen your skills for a compelling career in music. Our studio will both help you find the peace and space you need and will motivate you to pursue your personal or professional dreams in music no matter what your age is.

I’m using this opportunity to invite you all to the world of music and like Shakespeare said “if music be the food of love play on”.
